The Street, Near junction with A246 Road Closure Update

The road closure roadworks being undertaken from 22nd to 26th April have over run and so The Street is likely to remain closed from the roundabout with the A246 until at least Monday 29th. We have spoken to the sub-contractors for Affinity Water this morning (27th April) who have agreed not to close Ockham Road South this weekend and to undertake their work at a later date. South Western Railway confirms services during April’s industrial action

• A significantly reduced strike day service will run on a limited number of lines on Monday 8 April

• Due to an overtime ban, a revised timetable will also run across the South Western Railway network on Thursday 4, Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Tuesday 9 April

• On Saturday 6 April, engineering work will mean line closures in the Andover, Brockenhurst and Staines areas

SOUTH Western Railway (SWR) has confirmed its services during industrial action between Thursday 4 and Tuesday 9 April. Industrial action by the ASLEF union on Thursday 4, Friday 5, Saturday 6, Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 April will mean service changes across the SWR network.

On Monday 8 April, strike action will mean that a significantly reduced service will run on a limited number of lines. Trains will only run between:

• Basingstoke and Salisbury
• London Waterloo and Basingstoke
• London Waterloo and Feltham
• London Waterloo and Guildford via Woking*
• London Waterloo and Woking*


There will be no trains to stations such as Southampton Central, Portsmouth Harbour, Windsor & Eton Riverside, Reading or Exeter St Davids.
Customers hoping to head to leisure travel destinations on the South Coast including Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth on Monday 8 April should be aware that no trains will be running to these areas. There will also be no service on the Island Line. Trains that are running will only do so between 0700 and 1900. There will be no services outside of these times. Customers are advised to only travel if their journeys are absolutely necessary. For essential journeys, customers should check journey planners before setting off. Customers should also note that strike action will affect the London Underground network on this date.

Journey planners for Monday 8 April are up to date, with the exception of a small number of services between London Waterloo and Woking and London Waterloo and Guildford via Woking which will be up to date on Thursday 4 April. On Thursday 4, Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Tuesday 9 April, a revised timetable will operate across the SWR network, due to a ban on overtime working. An hourly service will operate on the Island Line. While all lines of route will be served on Thursday 4, Friday 5 and Tuesday 9 April, customers should check before they travel, as late notice cancellations are possible. On Saturday 6 April, engineering work will mean line closures in the Andover, Brockenhurst and Staines areas, with further service alterations in addition to a revised timetable. Customers are advised to check before travelling. Journey planners for Thursday 4, Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Tuesday 9 April are fully up to date.
