This year it is the turn of East Horsley Parish Council to
organise the community event for residents in East and West Horsley.
On
Sunday 2 July Horsley Towers is the setting for the second Horsley Big Day Out, featuring a parade of more than 100 classic cars, tours of
Horsley Towers, a Kid’s Park, lots of delicious food and thirst-quenching
drinks plus the inaugural Horsley WellFest with more than 20 practitioners of
wellness services and products on hand to encourage and inspire us all to
follow a healthier lifestyle.
As before there’s music from local bands,
Unfinished Business, Apache Rose and The XR3. We couldn’t afford the
actual Rolling Stones (they are getting on a bit as well) so are delighted to
welcome the UK’s No. 1 tribute band, Not the Rolling Stones, performing all the
classic hits including (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, Jumping Jack Flash, Honky
Tonk Women and It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (But I Like It).
It all kicks off at 2pm and entry is free for pedestrians and cyclists, however if you are arriving by car there is a small charge for the car park. Places are limited but the good news is that you can reserve your place in advance and save money by going to easthorsley.info – Horsley Big Day Out – Parking. Tickets are £8 in advance and £10 on the day with all profits going to the Cherry Trees Respite Home for Children with Disabilities.
We are most grateful for our sponsors, Wills and Smerdon, Wimbledon Carriage, Henshaws, Russell & Co and the Silent Pool Distillery and, of course, the De Vere group for allowing us access to the amazing Horsley Towers.
It’s a wonderful community event so bring the family (including dogs if kept on a lead) and enjoy a super day out. Lots more information at About - East Horsley Parish Council.
