Essential major works are taking place at the Slyfield community waste recycling centre Guildford, from the 10 to the 30 June. During this time, both the Slyfield Community Recycling Centre and the Waste Transfer Station will be temporarily closed. This will allow these essential works to take place prolonging the life of the site. Guildford residents can take advantage of the Surrey Resident Scheme and take household waste and recycling to many other community recycling sites in Surrey. These include: - Farnham CRC, Bourne Mill, GU9 9PS
- Witley CRC, Petworth Road, Witley, GU8 5QW
- Dorking CRC, Ranmore Road, Dorking, RH4 1TL
- Leatherhead CRC, Randalls Road, Leatherhead, KT22 0BA
- Woking CRC, Martrys Road, Woking, GU21 5NJ
- Cranleigh CRC, Elmbridge Road, Cranleigh, GU6 8JX
- Camberley CRC, Wilton Road, Camberley, GU15 2QW
Residents that would like to use another facility, will need proof they are a Surrey resident. The following documentation is acceptable as proof of address: - Driving licence
- This year's council tax bill
- A recent utility bill
- Surrey bus pass
- Any official or government document that shows their name and address
During this time there may also be some delays to our normal kerbside collection service. This is due to increased journey times to alternative disposal facilities. To ensure that the waste collection service operates as efficiently as it can, food waste will be collected on separate vehicles. This means residents may find that one bin is emptied much earlier in the day than the other. Missed collections can be reported online in the usual manner at Report a missed bin collection - Guildford Borough Council. More information about the dates and times alternative recycling sites will be open can be found on the Surrey County Council website Learn more about Surrey County Councils community recycling centres.
