A SAFE SPACE FOR HORSLEY TEENAGERS TO REVISE FOR EXAMS
Do you have GCSEs or A Levels looming? Do you sometimes struggle to find a quiet place to work, one without the distraction of younger brothers or sisters, the TV or your phone? Are you tired or sitting at the same table at home? Do you prefer to revise with friends? If so, then this new initiative from West Horsley Parish Council is for you.
We asked our Youth Council how we could best support our teenage community during periods of exam stress. The Youth Council told us that what young people in the village would value most is a quiet, free and supportive space in which to study which would be exclusively for them.
If you are aged 14-18 you are welcome to join us at West Horsley Village Hall on the following dates and times. All Study Hall sessions will be supervised by three adult volunteers with Enhanced DBS certificates. Light refreshments will be available.
No booking is required, but children will be required to share emergency contact details in a registration form on arrival. Parents are responsible for their child's travel to and from the village hall.
If you are an adult and would like to volunteer to supervise sessions please email cllrclinton@westhorsley.info.
This is a West Horsley Parish Council initiative with generous financial support from Horsley Community Fund.
