Review of Electoral and Boundary Arrangements for Surrey

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) is reviewing the electoral and boundary arrangements for Surrey. The review will include at least two rounds of public consultation before any recommendations for change are made. The review is necessary because it has been a long time since the last review and Surrey County Council has requested the review.
Dates of the review are as follows:
28 Feb '23 Decide how many councillors (the number of councillors will remain at 81)
28 Feb - 8 May '23 Initial public consultation on communities
1 Aug - 9 Oct '23 Public consultation of proposals
9 Jan '24 Publish recommendations
TBD '24 Parliament approves recommendations
2025 Elections New arrangements apply to local elections
