Horsley Lunch Club for Men Success
Published: 01 April 2025
Would you like to learn how to cook healthier meals? The Horsley Lunch Club for Men started in January 2025 and currently has 12 very enthusiastic members who vary in ability and experience. It is aimed at men who wish to learn more about cooking ‘real food’, learn new recipes and skills in the company of other men. You may be a carer, single or someone looking for company in a supportive and welcoming environment. The intention is to have a sociable session, cooking together, with no stress, no pressure and a nice lunch at the end.
The key is cooking real food from scratch that can be replicated at home. All the recipes can be done as a single portion or as a batch for freezing. Every meeting, held at The Wheelhouse in West Horsley from 1000 1300, will have a new recipe which you can look at whilst having a mug of tea or coffee. All the food and equipment will be provided, from there it’s divide out the jobs and start preparation and cooking to serve lunch around 1200. At the end we clear up.
There is not a mandatory cost to attend but we will ask for donations to cover buying the ingredients and the running costs which we expect to be around £4 each week. The original intention was to run one session a month but because of the popularity and interest this new Club has generated we are now running two session each month. Members do not need to live in East or West Horsley.
